With a family career of 100 years, Pedro Tecayéhuatl is currently one of the workshops with the greatest tradition and experience in the artisanal sector in the City of Puebla.
Over the years, we have preserved the cultural heritage of the people, by developing unique pieces that embellish spaces, provide exclusivity and provide a perfect fusion between artisanal, aesthetic and functional.
Each of the pieces manufactured in our workshop is made 100% by hand by poblano artisans, with first quality materials under an environmentally friendly process by removing lead and soluble toxic substances from the materials that are traditionally used.
The select combination of clays from the region, enamels, pigments and keeping intact the technique of artisanal poblano decoration, has allowed us to have the certification granted by the Regulatory Council of Loza Poblana Region of Origin, which guarantees a manufacturing process sustainable and that each piece purchased represents a unique and exclusive product.
Our molding technique is entirely handmade as we use mechanical lathes and plaster casts to achieve uniform parts.
Once the piece is finished, we let it dry for approximately 20 days in spaces free of drafts to prevent it from thundering and thus be ready for the first “burning” in the oven.
Once the piece is cooked, we give it an enamel bath and it passes to the decoration, whose technique has remained intact since its origin. In this part of the process, our decorators give free rein to their imagination complementing it with their ability to capture the character drawings of the Talavera poblana. Finally, the pieces undergo the last “burning” thus achieving the colors and brightness that make everyone fall in love.
